Presented in its first appearance in 1977, the Vespa P200E, unlike the P125X, is equipped with a standard spare wheel and a contact key positioned on the handlebar. The frame dimensions are identical to those of the lower displacement versions. The ignition is electronic and uses a control unit made by Ducati and positioned on the rear of the crankcase. The P200E is equipped with a separate lubrication device (LS) for the engine which has two separate tanks: the petrol tank has a capacity of 8 liters, including the reserve, of 1.6 liters of oil with the reserve.
From 1977 to 1982, 211,076 were produced.
The 200 cc model maintains the P200E name up to frame 160001. From this number on, in 1982, it will take the name PX200E, conforming to the other models.
